Reader Rabbit Learn to Read With Phonics

This and all reader rabbit series do not run on any Intel based mac. In other words if you bought your computer in the last 5 years or so it will not work. Also, it does not work on the more recent G4 computers. I have several macintosh computers and the only computer that this software will work on is over 10 years old. BTW just because these disks say OSX does not mean it will work. What it should say is OSX(in classic mode emulation) which has been phased out in macs for the past few years. Oh…. and the company does not respond to emails. This product is not work the effort.

While this program is one that I have seen at a couple daycares in my area, on my home computer this program hangs and intermittently changes colors.

I have to say the Reader Rabbit series alone has made my darling angel a reader, I sit with her, and do it with her. I don’t sit her by herself and expect her to get it all alone with a computer but if you show your enthusiasm and use these products I promise you unless your child has a learning disability, your child will read early and well….excellent head start to school, in fact Kindergarten so far has been a moot point she is so far ahead of them.

I have used this software with at least four of my grandchildren. They have fun with it. They all read excellently, even the youngest who is in kindergarten and can read chapter books.

Purchased this for my nephews – 3 and 4 years old. There are SO many great activities that they could (and have!) spend an entire day just “playing their computer games.” My brother (a single dad) gets a break every time he puts this “game” into the computer for the boys. For most activities, they work together and learn together. It’s been great fun to see them learning, see their skills improve, and hear the increase in their vocabularies!! We were a bit concerned about the “leftie” using the mouse for the first time. BUT – he had it down in under 5 minutes! It was great!
