I purchased the software yesterday and still don’t have it working due to the registration hoops that the software requires. The register button is supposed to open a browser so that you can enter your information and get receive an activation code in return. The register button does not open the browser. They don’t provide a URL either through the software or through there website that would allow me to access the registration screen directly. Their support is only open during business hours M-F so I can’t get help until Monday.
If you need to be up and running quickly then this is not the product for you.

I’ve never used a CAD type program before so I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to use. I had no trouble installing it (miracle) and I was able to build a blueprint in a matter of minutes. One caveat – I’m not doing anything very advanced; just moving walls and windows around and adding a little furniture. But I found it fairly intuitive and I was able to design a bunch of different layouts really quickly. They don’t have tons of detail yet, but it’s still better than waiting for my contractor to draw them for me.

I have been a builder for over thirty years, so grew up before the computer age. I have become familiar with adobe photo shop but this was the first 3D software I have tried. It has an easy windows interface and was no problem for my Vista OS laptop. Rendering in high quality is excellent, especially when you consider the $50 price tag. I did need to turn off the hardware acceleration on my older XP OS desk top. Its not specific for cabinet making but has a way better cabinet 3D rendering than the cabinet planner software I bought for $90 bucks.

I first tried this out on a trial basis. Although it was severely crippled in that you could not print OR SAVE it appeared to do what I needed. Since I could not save, I decided to purchase before going further.
The Software does a very good job of making floor plans, etc. Does what I need it to do well.
The annoying thing is it’s registration. Even though I purchased a legal program, I had to register it before it would unlock. This was not disclosed before I purchased the software. If it had, I would not have purchased it.
This appears to be a growing trend. It appears we now have an option to either “lie” on registration, etc. or give away our privacy just to use a product.

I should have read more of the 1 star reviews. This may be fine for someone fooling around but if you try to model an existing room or set of rooms, called remodeling, it is impossible. The app “snaps” to nearby walls, sizes dimensions to wall centers rather than any thing that can be actually measured, my walls have different thicknesses due the pluming vents etc. This is with the snap to features turned off and the dimensioning tool set on surfaces. I can’t believe that I have spent 9 hours over 4 days with this app. There appears no way to simply enter a dimension the mouse must be used which requires lots of zooming in and out and then because the room is labeled in the center of the room it is very difficult to see the dimension you are trying to adjust with the mouse. I could go on but:
Simply do not buy this unless you want a game.
