My initial product review was for Panda IS 2007, which you can read elsewhere on this site. I’m adding a review here to warn any potential buyers that Panda believes your purchase of their product entitles them to keep you on their marketing email list FOREVER, even if you go through the process of unsubscribing a number of times, as I have. Since unsubscribing from Panda’s software service in the fall of 2007, I continue to receive marketing emails about once a month, despite repeated requests to be taken off their lists. Unless you want to receive spam FOREVER, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for paid internet security suites.
As far as the software itself goes, you can read my main review of Panda but it looks like more recent users are still having the major problems I listed: poor set up, unclear instructions & essentially non-existent tech support.
Attention Panda: If you keep spamming me, I will keep putting up negative reviews of your products.

I tried to activate the product on a toshiba satellite(XP) for two weeks. Also emailed the tech support, only an automatic response so far. Can’t get it to acivate, and very poor machine operation. Gets a zero from me.

Obviously Panda included this option to compete with other products that are security suites that have it. I installed and set my Supervisor password and then selected the ‘Kid’ level of protection. It offers Teen and Employee too. I rebooted and went online to test. The first surprise was that to even get in to IE I had to use my Supervisor password (the one that allows you to control the settings of the internet control). Think about it: Junior wants to get on the net to do a school project but has to have a password to even get on?
After that disappointment I tested it with some very well known names in porn, Playboy and Hustlet (in the interest of technical science to be sure). Let me right in. From a practical user (Johnnie, maybe) it’s useless. Johnnie would have to log in with his (I tested another user name) or my password (both set to ‘Kid’) and he could go anywhere.
OK, I thought, maybe I did something wrong. I went in to the custom settings (still set to ‘Kid’) and manually entered web stes to block. Rebooted to be fair and tried again. I still had to input my password to get into IE and again the manually input sites were not blocked.
the final ironic beauty was that I went to install the program and Panda wanted me to do a questionnaire. I thought, sure why not? It blocked the questionnaire. Sweet. It’s going back.
Maybe the virus protection and the rest of it work fine. That’s not the main reason I bought it. If it doesn’t work don’t advertise that it does. I have a Toshiba Satellite like the other reviewer too.
