After reading these reviews of W7, I am very disappointed. Instead of encrypting hard drives we need to be putting our white collar liars, crooks and thieves behind bars where they belong. I’m very disappointed that President Obama seems to have had not enough interest in this, but instead, has bought into the idea that larger economic stimulus to them will somehow lead to reform. So, maybe, Microsoft’s newest incompatibilities will lead to still larger government stimulus, even bigger bonuses, and further revamps of Daylight Savings Time. I would like to be using Windows I and eagerly awaiting Windows II. That would be a real improvement. Some talk of HD in the future when we have better hard drives would be okay, but no laws. We had and we have much larger concerns not properly addressed.

One Word to describe Windows 7 – CRAP!
PROS -
You can open Photos! So.
You can surf the internet. So.
You can listen to Music. So.
You can watch videos. So.
You can view files you have. So..
Most importantly you can get emails. SO!
CONS -
It is a waste of money.
It is a waste of time.
It is Vista all over again.
Get ready for years of bugs, unstable crashing, security risks, and non-stop updates for the rest of your life with Windows 7.
XP is still the king of ALL operating systems PERIOD! It was the most stable OS Microsoft ever came out with TO DATE!

Read T.R. Collins’ review very carefully before you purchase this, or any other Windows 7 product. In brief, if you have Vista Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional requires a full install, which loses everything–all settings and files will be gone. Caveat emptor, or you will get “Micro$oft” and not even get kissed, too.

So I ordered Windows 7 Pro upgrade. After going thru all of the checks to make sure my PC was ready for the upgrade, deleting several programs that the upgrade advisor said I needed to delete. I also learn I will have to re-install office! Anyway I finally get to the step of installing this OS and the installer tells me that I can not upgrade since I have windows vista ultimate. Windows Ultimate was a joke, so why keep it. But windows 7 would not upgrade, I would have to do a fresh install.
So now I have windows ultimate ordered. Idiots.
That PC will be the last I own. I actually thought that this windows would be better. I am only buying Macs from now on. My upgrade to Snow Leopard was painless.

I have experienced my PC locking up when I mistakenly click twice on an option.
It seems to have moved all the icons off the screen.
The look and feel is generally different from XP and Vista – necessitating some re-learning of methods.
It seems slow and unrresponsive at times – on a fast Dell dual core machine.
As for the 64 bit option, I tried that, but found faulty drivers a problem, so backed out.
Hmmm. The only reason I don’t move to MacIntosh is I have some investment in an Intel machine, but may do it anyway. There is just too much screwing around to use Windows.
Microsoft’s problem is they have to write software that runs on many different machines, but Apple runs on only their own machine. That’s an enormous advantage to Apple, regarding software development – reliability.
Just my impressions. My feeling after using it, is that they’ve returned to 80% of the reliability of XP. In my opinion, It’s wise to get a tool that won’t hobble you. When you use a tool, whether it’s a shovel, a toothbrush, or a personal computer, you shouldn’t have to notice it at all, let alone wrestle with it and have to make an enforced religion out of it. So do the right thing for yourself that let’s you focus on your work, not the process.
