Lots of good stuff. Reading book for both personal/business. Planning to get a Facebook Page for my business live this weekend. Haven’t gone beyond sign-up for Twitter, not much more on Flickr yet, just starting to get LinkedIn set up. I can see how it can all work together. Eager to get it all linked up and keep going.

Social Networking Spaces: From Facebook to Twitter and Everything In Between provides a fine tour of social networking systems, offering a user-friendly format to explore how to use social networks to connect with and share with family and friends. Eleven social network sites are ‘toured’ with details on using them with mobile devices, exchanging information and more. A powerful survey, any computer or general library will appreciate this.

Social Networking Spaces is a great resource for those looking to build or expand their understanding of social networking sites. The author’s style is casual and engaging–it’s like having a friend sit down with you and explain the ins and outs of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and more. I normally have a difficult time staying focused on this type of book, but I had no trouble with this one.
I came to the book with a basic understanding of how many of these sites worked and how to set them up, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that every chapter offered me a better way to do things, or a use I hadn’t previously imagined for each social network, such as traveling virtually using Second Life.
Since I’m not a “techie,” I appreciated the use of lingo that I could easily understand. I recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in using these popular social networking sites for personal or business use.

Social Networking Spaces by Todd Kelsey is a fabulous “how to” book on everything social media has to offer. Dr. Fun’s magical carpet ride is peppered with “how to’s ” on everything from creating a life story, to getting the most out of Twitter. The sections on blogging are a great place for anyone to begin an online public (or private) dialog. This book is beneficial to both the personal novice, and avid professional seeking to promote a brand using available, relevant, social spaces. A must have and enjoyable read.
