I am presently using NOD32 Anti-Virus; can I download Microsoft Security Essentials too?
Will NOD32 and Microsoft Security Essentials conflict or can they be both run on the same computer at the same time?

Stan with Nod 32 you don’t need Microsoft Security Essential.
The conflict between security programs is with their firewalls and anti-virus programs.
Anti-virus programs like to hog the System so it can protect it. If you activate another anti-virus program they may fight for who gets to protect the System, thus creating a slow and dysfunctional System.
With firewalls you may have 2 installed but only if one is a hardware firewall and the other a software firewall. Otherwise there may be a conflict. So 2 software firewalls will likely cause problems with your System amd vice versa.
There is no problem installing more than one security program as long as both are not running at the same time. That’s when the headaches jump into full gear.
Nod 32 and Kaspersky were rated as #1 ant-virus programs by an Independent company that test security programs .

I don’t think that you need Microsoft Security Essentials when you have ESET NOD32. Both provides real-time protection so there might be conflicts.

I am going to Third the advice that you should NOT use MS “Security Essentials” with NOD32 (providing you have a current up-to-date subscription with ESET).
NOD32 is hands down the best Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware software on the market and has been for many years. NOD32 utilizes the most-advanced and accurate heuristics technology in the field today. Something that most other AV products lack . . . particularly MS’s laughably named “Security Essentials”.
So I repeat if you have NOD32 AV4 or the NOD32 Security Suite with a current subscription, then you are among the safest Websurfers in the world.
Congrats!
