Why do you think NOD32 is starting up automatically. To protect your computer the best possible way. There are a lot of programs, that start up also automatically, but do not have to. YOu can manange those with this free start up manager http://cupersoft.com/content/view/50/
When there is one program that should start up automatically it is NOD32. Your computer is attacked every second you use the computer and therefore you need constant protection and not just when you want it.
Viruses do not ask your permission and warn you when they attack.
Be sensible and leave NOD32 alone and let it do its job.

start> programs> startup.
remove it.
or
start> run
type msconfig
a new window will appear. on one of the tabs, select start up. unclick nod32.
